InfoSewer SA Edit Menu

The InfoSewer SA Edit Network toolbar provides various features to create data elements (such as Junctions, Tanks, Reservoirs, Pumps, Valves, Pipes and Network), select specific elements for data edit. Also graphical edit commands such as Move Node, Edit Vertices, Redraw Pipes may be accessed. Domain Manager and Facility Manager may also be accessed from here. Also delete commands are available here.

Add/Insert Element Ribbon

  • Add/Insert Junction - Use this button to create a new junction node. Enter the new Junction ID and an optional description. Refer to the section on ID Counter to set your preferred ID. For details on Junctions refer to the section on Data Elements.
  • Add/Insert Storage - Use this button to create a tank. The storage is modeled as a node inInfoSewer SA. For details on storage refer to the section on Data Elements.
  • Add/Insert Outfall - Use this button to create a new reservoir. An outfall is modeled as a node inInfoSewer SA. Enter the new reservoir ID. For details on reservoirs refer to the section on Data Elements.
  • Add/Insert Pump - Use this button to create a new pump. A pump is modeled as a node inInfoSewer SA. Enter the new Pump ID. For details on pumps refer to the section on Data Elements.
  • Add/Insert Weir - Use this button to create a weir. A weir is modeled as a link inInfoSewer SA. For more information about valves refer to the section on Data Elements.
  • Add Conduit - Use this button to create a new pipe. A pipe needs a start node and an end node. First digitize the nodes and then connect the two nodes with the pipe. Enter the new Pipe ID. For more information on Pipes refer to the section on Data Elements.
  • Add Pipe - Use this button to create a new pipe. A pipe needs a start node and an end node. First digitize the nodes and then connect the two nodes with the pipe. Enter the new Pipe ID. For more information on Pipes refer to the section on Data Elements.
  • Add Pipe - Use this button to create a new pipe. A pipe needs a start node and an end node. First digitize the nodes and then connect the two nodes with the pipe. Enter the new Pipe ID. For more information on Pipes refer to the section on Data Elements.
  • Add Outlet - Outlets are flow control devices that are typically used to control outflows from storage units. They are used to model special head-discharge relationships that cannot be characterized by pumps, orifices, or weirs. Outlets are internally represented in InfoSewer SA as a link connecting two nodes. An outlet can also have a flap gate that restricts flow to only one direction.
  • Digitize Network - The Digitize Network command is most helpful when digitizing pipes and nodes in bulk. The order of the pipe and node creation does not matter when using the Digitize Network command. This method is most useful when creating a network "on the fly". Data corresponding to the different elements may be entered once the network is in place through the database tables. See: Digitize Network Methodology

Edit Element Ribbon

  • Select Element - Activates the element selection cursor to select data elements.
  • Move Node - This button is used to move a node from one location to another. Once initiated, click on the desired node to select it and then click once on the new location. It is important to note that if theInfoSewer SA Control Center ->InfoSewer SA button -> Tools -> Project Preferences -> Operation Settings -> Auto Length Calculation is not checked (not turned on), any links attached to the node will not have their lengths automatically updated.
  • Edit Pipe Vertex - Use this command to change the location of intermediate vertices along a pipe. The length of the pipe is automatically updated as long as the auto-length option is enabled.
  • Redraw Pipe - The redraw feature may be used to redraw an already existing pipe. You may change the upstream and/or downstream nodes connected to the pipe or place it at an altogether different location on your Map. On initiating this command,InfoSewer SA asks you to select the pipe. Left click the pipe to select it and then left click again to choose the new upstream node. Left click to suggest intermediate vertices and finally double click to point at the downstream node.
  • - Used to modify shape of a subcatchment by changing the location of its vertices.
  • - Use to move a subcatchment to a new position on the drawing area.

Delete Element Ribbon

  • Delete Selection - Activates the element selection cursor to select data elements

  • Undo or un-delete nodes and links beginning with the most currently deleted item
  • Redo or re-delete previously deleted nodes and links beginning with the most currently deleted item

Edit Attribute Ribbon

  • For Group Editing on Selection, you will be prompted to select a group of data elements on map screen. Press Enter or Right Click to end the selection. Data elements selected will be highlighted in the selection color.
  • The Group Editing command allows you to specify modeling properties of multiple network components in a single operation. Editing by Selection.
  • The Group Editing command allows you to specify modeling properties of multiple network components in a single operation. Editing by Domain.
  • TheInfoSewer SA Group Editing feature allows the user to assign values and settings to a group of elements "on the fly". This is extremely useful when conducting Water Quality analysis.
  • Change ID dialog box allows the user to change the ID for any selected data element.
  • The DB Editor provides a means to view all the DB Tables. Any number of DB Tables can be open for inspection, modification and/or data edit. All the data corresponding to the InfoSewer SA Project may be accessed through these DB Tables.
