Innovyze Announces the Retirement of the H2OMAP Modeling Platform with Upgrade Path to More Powerful InfoWater, InfoSewer and InfoSWMM Software

Innovyze, a leading global innovator of business analytics software and technologies for smart wet infrastructure, today announced the planned retirement of the H2OMAP Modeling Platform, as well as a new path for existing customers to easily adapt the more powerful next generation programs, InfoWater, InfoSewer and InfoSWMM.

H2OMAP was the first GIS-based hydraulic modeling package available in the industry. It helped pioneer the shift from CAD based lines and attributes to database driven maps. The platform has served the industry well for nearly two decades.  About 4 years after the creation of H2OMAP products, Innovyze developed an additional approach with new products that sit as an extension in Esri’s ArcMAP (ArcGIS) software.  The innovation of new tools grew rapidly in the InfoWater, InfoSWMM, and InfoSewer products but several of these advancements could not be adopted in the limited platform of the H2OMAP products.

“Many of us love the platform that we were trained to model in but we have decided to finally discontinue support for our H2OMAP products,” said Product Manager, Brett Singley, P.E. “We are confident that our assisted transition to the Info products will be easy and much more helpful to our valued clients.”  The following detail some of the value that previous H2OMAP users have found in the new platform:

  1. Full GIS Integration – Instead of a using static import of GIS info to create a model, the user can now use the Info products’ more powerful GIS Gateway tool that makes updating and creating models much faster and more transparent. In addition, users can use a raster with elevations to extract any data that might help make the model more accurate.
  2. More powerful maps – Whether using ESRI basemaps that are built-in the software or creating thematic mapping for model results, the Info products are more versatile but offer a familiar feel. For example, nearly every icon in H2OMAP is identical to the ones used in the ESRI based products, making it incredibly easy to learn.
  3. Easier navigation – Simple scrolling the mouse wheel to zoom in and out and clicking and holding the mouse wheel to pan is a huge time saver for existing users of the Esri-based products.
